Hi, I am Sai Karthik, my study permit has been approved and issued upto expiry of my passport.
If I renew my passport will I be allowed to enter Canada, if I carry both the passports?

will my visa be still valid?

Will be my study permit issued by the immigration services at the border even though I have renewed my passport? I am yet to enter Canada for first time

You should enter on your current passport then prior to it and your SP expiry apply to extend it from in Canada at least 30 day before expiry but you can do it as soon as you get your new passport.

As I said you can enter with a new Passport. You will have to get a study permit extension while you are in Canada since yours will expire before the end of your studies. You are not required to get a new visa in your passport to stay in Canada unless you plan to leave and re-enter Canada.

The study permit allows you to be in Canada, the visa allows you to enter Canada.

Am assuming your passport expires on 22/01/2025 and not 2015. If it's an Indian passport, you can renew it only within 1 year of passport expiry. Your best best is to travel with your current passport and then renew it in Canada anytime after January 2024. It's a good idea to do it as soon as you become eligible to renew it. Once you renew your passport, you can apply for a study permit extension. Keep in mind that the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) stamped on your passport and your study permit are 2 different things. You'll be provided the TRV automatically when you apply for study permit from outside Canada. But when you extend your study permit inside Canada, you also need to apply for a new TRV after you receive the extended study permit. The TRV is necessary for you to leave Canada and re-enter again.
