Passport renewal

Hi,
I currently work in Canada under post-graduation work permit and am planning to apply for permanent residency
as a skilled worker. My passport expires on 31st of July 2013. Would it be better for me to extend my passport before applying
for permanent residency or it won't be a problem to apply with my current passport and then, once the passport is extended, to send the extended passport photocopy?

You can apply now & later on update them with new passport.

i got the invite to apply, but i have to update my passport information (which means i will get a new passport number) . Is this still okay or will i have to decline the invite to apply?

No need to decline. Accept for now, then when u get the new passport number, raise a cse and have it updated
