Anybody had experience of renewing the passport while PR is in process? If you renew your passport, how do you inform CIC like sending a copy to CIC or wait for PPR?
No problem, renew you passport if you have less then 6 months validity on it.
After you got your new passport send new set of forms with your new passport details on it to your CIC processing office.
Remember to fill in your UCI number on all of the form. Also add a cover letter letter saying documents set is for update passport details.

You can send it via email. Scan the data page of your new passport, and if your old passport has a stamp saying it has been cancelled, then scan that too. Then include a cover letter with your name, CEC file number, UCI, date of birth, and a short explanation to say that you have renewed your passport because it was close to expiring. Remember to date and sign the letter, and the entire scanned file should be less than 5MB. No need to fill forms again. It will cause confusion. I think that it's better to send this info as soon as you have it. Waiting till CIC requests it, may add a small delay.

I agree with you 100%. Indeed I received MR and RPRF this week and new passport as well. I am going to email my new passport and old passport cancellation page along with cover letter. Thanks you.
Both of my dependent's passports and visitor permits will expire on March 30, 2023. The passports are in the renewal process and we expect to receive them within three to four weeks. After we receive the passports, our next step is to get visitor permits.
I got a nomination from RNIP, Canada and I want to submit all documents on the PR portal now. Once I received both passports and visitor permits I will update my children's information, May I ask what the process is to update?
Or,
I should wait for getting passports and getting visitor permits, then apply...?
