I have received my COPR and Single Entry Visa (valid till August) and I intend to travel to Canada in August to apply for the PR card.
The problem is that my passport only has a few blank pages left and I need to travel internationally in the next couple of months for work (lots of pages for visas and immigration stamps).
Does anyone know if get my passport renewed before I can travel to Canada, do I need to get my passport number changed in my COPR and transfer my single entry visa to the new pasport? OR can I just carry my new passport along with the old passport and COPR (which has my old passport number)? Will there be any changes required for my dependent's COPR as well?
I understand from another thread in this forum that you can carry your old passport (containing the visa stamping) along with your new passport at the time of landing in Canada. Technically, the passport issued by your country has expired but the visa issued by Canada has not.
Hi,
I got the mail to send passports for COPR. My question is: me and my wife hold indian passport and my son holds US passport. Do I need to send the original passport for my son too?
You have to get a new COPR with your new passport number on it.
I ask the question to Cic and I have to send the bio page of my passport along with new photos and they will issue you a new copr.it can not be done at the airport.
