Hi,

My passport is valid for one year and 6 months. I got admission for a 2 year program.

If I apply for study permit with this passport, can I renew my passport while I'm waiting for a decision on my application and have the study permit attached to the new passport?

Or it's better to renew the passport and then apply for a study permit?

If I don't renew the passport and apply for a study permit, the expiry date on the study permit would be based on the expiry date of my passport?
