I am PR and applied for my spouse for family sponsor and returned to my home country. My friend sent me my PR Card through post from canada to my home country. I lost my passport in my home country. i got a renewed passport one from my home country. but now i found my lost/previous passport on which i traveled 1st time to canada.

My query is should I inform CIC about this fact ? Moreover, will it affect case of my spouse of family sponsor ? what type of questions i have to face by visa officer at airport ?

please anyone guide me

I am not expert but I will give you my inputs

I think CIC do not have to do with this you should contact to your passport office and explain them your situation I think they may cancel your new passport as you have found out your previous lost passport.

only your passport office can guide you

You must contact your passport office and surrender one of your passports because it is illegal to possess 2 valid passports for the same country. I don't think CIC will have anything to do with this. So, contact the passport office and let them know. Also, please don't forget to post your experience afterwards.

thanx for valuable guidance. As per my home country laws, my lost passport( which i found now) is no more valid. But should i inform in writing to CIC regarding my new passport number as i have to travel on my new passport . ???????

Not required, I guess. go to your passport office and get your old passport cancelled (usually, they place a cancelled stamp in the first and last pages of your passport) and take the passport back from them. When you travel, carry both the passports. The visa on your old passport should still be valid even if the passport has been invalidated.

I think this should work but please take a second opinion from somebody else. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

Thanks,

Raj
