Hello All,
My passport expires on Sep 2013. I am eligible to apply under CEC in Dec 2012 as I will complete my 2 yrs in Dec 2012. Will my application be considered even if my passport expires during the PR Processing time?
If I have to apply for a passport renewal, I can apply only in Mar 2013 as I can apply only 6 months before it expires, and then I have to apply for PR.
Please advice, if its fine if I can apply for PR in Dec 2012.
Thanks,
Hi

1. Apply with the passport in December and when you renew it, send a copy of the renewal
Thank you PMM, So can I send my renewed passport details even if I dont get the AOR number by then?

If you are an Indian and presently in Canada, you can submit your passport application within one year of expiry date not 6 months.
even I was under the same impression(6M), but one of my friends applied with in 1 year. and I got the same update from VFS officer.
It takes only one week to receive your new passport.
I tried to submit my passport before six month and they didn't accepted it.I dont know if the duration has changed from 6 months to 1 year now and also i would like to share one more thing i was issued passport for 2 year only and the VSF said once its coming near expiry apply again and you wont get charged...Stupidity.. when i asked they said its on Officers discreation...

Thanks inayatH, I will check with local VFS here and see. I have gone through the website and thought its 6 months.
Thanks for the information.
