Passport expiry date for Landing?

Hi folks,

I've heard that when I get ITA and accepted for PR, I need at least 6 months left until my passport expires. (ex. my passport expires in Dec 2018, I need to get PR by June).
Is this true?
I am obligated to join Korean Army and I can't extend my passport later than 2018).

So as long as my passport is not expired, I can get PR when I land, correct?
