My passport expires on the 19th of January 2019 and I have to enter Canda before the 1 of March 2019. I turn 31 on the 19th of May. Do I have to enter before I turn 31?
The next question is, what do I need to do with my new passport and IEC to match everything up. From what I found (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=861&top=25) I Just take a photocopy of my old passport (or my old passport) to the border services and my new pasport with a travel eTA. Is this correct?
Once your POE letter has been issued which you need to show at the border along with your full term travel insurance and access to 2500 funds your age doesn’t matter as that is only important during the application/acceptance.
The passport question is as per the answer in the link for when POE letter has been issued but make sure your IEC work permit is issued by CBSA with your new passport number on it not the old one with which you applied. Plus you will need a new ETA with your new passport. Take a photocopy of your old passport bio page or the old one itself up to you plus of course new passport.
Not that it seems you are thinking of doing it but nobody should enter the country to activate any type of temporary permit with a passport that expires before the end of an expected term given permit will only be issued to passport expiry. It can be a somewhat painful and not free process to extend a permit to its intended time.
