Passport Expire before duraiton of 2yrs Study Period

Hy Guys, I am from INDIA and planning to apply for Visa for Sept 14 term.
but my passport is gonna expire in MARCH 2016 so will that be a problem ?
as far as i know one can renew passport after 3yrs of Passport expiry date or before 1 yr.
so if my visa gets approved than will it be till MARCH 2016 or for entire my 2yrs course period....
what should i do ?

As far as you know, you say. Have you talked to the passport authorities?

I am not from the same country as you. I had 2 years left on my passport. I walked in to the passport office and applied for a new passport and had no issues at all.

i have the same issue with the passport....but in india u cannot renew your passport before 3 months expiry...

we cannot do much in this case.......have to proceed with same passport......
