Hello everyone,
I'm going to apply for my Canadian citizenship in April. My passport expires in November. Do I need to renew my passport before I start my application?
The passport renewal process takes any time between 2 to 3 months.
I wanted to know ahead of time, so if I need to apply it, I do it sooner.
Thanks!
If u are not going to travel until u get ur citizenship, u can decide not to renew it
Thanks Zmaqsood for the quick reply. What happens if I renew the passport during the application process?
Nothing. Even if u renew you do not need to inform IRCC about that but if you go to interview/test make sure u take along ur new passport and provide a copy to citizenship officer. This has no bearing on ur citizenship application as they r only concerned with passports covrering 5 year eligibility period u claimed in ur applicantion what happened before or after isnt their prob
