I got ITA in January and I have submitted application in March. I know the current progress is super slow due to Covid. The passport that I entered for the application will be expired in March 2022 and my medical exam result will be expired February 2022.

Due to the slow progress, I am expecting both my passport and medical exam be expired when I got updates about my application. What will happen?

Do you know extend or ask for new exam, which one is more likely?
I believe it depends on your current medical results, the current process is a medical officer will review your current results and provide guidance to IRCC to extend or require new results. I have seen this goes both ways, medicals were extended for a lot of folks and for few re-medicals were requested.

You are most likely be asked for re-medicals if your application is not approved after Feb 2022.

Provided that a decision wouldn't have been made on your file back then, you will most likely receive a request from IRCC to renew and resubmit your new passport.

FYI, in my case, my application has been approved a while back. But due to covid I haven't received copr yet. The passport of one of my dependents is due to expire in April. I didn't receive any notice from IRCC. I did renew the passport and submitted the new one.

You mean IRCC will notify me to get a new passport and send them the details of the new passport? I am clarifying "resubmit" you mentioned.

Exactly. The details of the new passport. But they seem to do it while the application is not yet approved and still open
