Hello,

I am currently prepping funds for the PoF for express entry and I am still a ways off from securing the amount that is required. So my plans have changed a bit since I have a partner who I would like to come with me to Canada to live as a family. The thing is that we are only engaged and there is no legal binding or marriage contract between us. When I do happen to apply for express entry, how should I mention my partner? Should I only mention that the express entry is for me alone and then, when and if, the ITA arrives I should then mention her (assuming we are married by then)? Or should I mention her as my wife from now but then if I do happen to receive the ITA before getting married then what then?

Thanks in advance for any response everyone.

No marriage as you ll have to show a marriage certificate which will have a date. If you ve been living together for over a year you can apply as common law together
