Aplicants only must do that if the aplication is more than the web proccesing time...
Actually, just to note something that I have recently found out, you are able to contact your MP even if the application is within normal processing times. They are able to, at the very least, check on status. I was told that if an MP's office tells you otherwise it could be that they are inexperienced with the process and do not know as much. Just FYI.
Thanks for posting this info

That's exactly what our MP said, too. Then, I talked to a friend who works for another MP and that person said that is totally false. They said any MP can check into any file if they want to and if they are familiar with the process (some just don't know any better). They said at the very least, they can check the status for you. I know it doesn't help much, but maybe you can try to push on if you wanted to. No matter what the case may be, I'm sure you will hear something in due time! And it will be good news! Try to stay positive....we all know it's hard for sure!! Wishing you all the best!
If your MP won't do it, contact Minister Kenney's office in Ottawa, and they will inquire for you... I did!

Hey i called Kenneys office and they said no,they cannot do anything...I must contact Frank Valeriote and he cannnot do anything so bad...
so i must wait...thanks
Good Luck
I contacted my MP and filled out the Consent form and they didn't do anything! He told me the file was processing in normal processing time. The processing time in Damascus is 15 months and my applicant's file has only been almost 13 months. The officer working for my MP said they couldn't do anything even after at least 3 months past the 15 month processing time. He told me to contact him back after the end of summer another 5 or 6 months..
This all sounds a little disconcerting...
I have contacted my MP's office and sent them the consent forms today. We are over the processing time listed. The woman I spoke with said that as long as we were over that time she could make an inquiry. She said that we should have something back within this week. I will be interested to see what happens.
Hi Thanks for your answers,I add some members of Parliament info...Please call them and asking info...They are in that position to help us....
