Hi,
I have been looking into the express entry point-based system, and one thing is not clear to me. In job experience section, part-time job is acceptable however less points are allocated to it (I'm assuming half the amount of full-time job experience), but the question is, does my part-time job experience while I'm a student also receive points or is it not acceptable?
Thanks

A) Your assumption is incorrect. You get the same amount of points for part-time work experience. However, your part-time hours need to be equivalent to that of full time hours in order to be eligible
Your experience must be at least
12 months of full-time work
30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours), OR
equal amount in part-time hours, such as:
15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
B) Your part-time work experience as a student does not count:
To qualify for the CEC through Express Entry, you must have:
at least 12 months of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last three years (before you apply). The work was:
full-time OR
an equal amount in part-time
gained your work experience in Canada with the proper authorization
Self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student (such as on a co-op work term) doesn’t count under this program.

My husband is the dependent in the application process. He works part time 20 hrs a week from October 2017 but when I put it in the work history it rewarded him 5 points. Wouldn't it be considered 1 yr in October 2019?
Should I remove it
@Metalhead_666
Sir what does Co op work term means ?
Further Can you please clarify my doubt regarding part time work experience.
After completing my BSc in Hospitality Management I Pursued MBA and a part time job ( In a hotel alongwith my MBA REGULAR course ) and the part time job constitutes to more than 30 hours per week.
Can this be shown as a Part time work Experience ?
( please note : the above is an Indian scenario and i am applying for FSW/PNP )
Hello I would like to know about this as well. If the primary NOC occupation is full-time work experience, and rest of the work for the work experience is part time, can that part time work be counted towards FSW points?

Apologies for the multiple questions! But may I also ask if part time skilled work done while under full time study (study in India) is eligible as well?
