Hello everyone,

My parents visa visitor visa to Canada from India was rejected in August 2017 and the reasons were:
  • You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors including travel history, employee prospects in country of residence, personal assets and financial status
  • I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds including income or assets to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure
My father is 69 years old and my mother is 65 years old. My father has about 4 lakhs INR in his bank account and my mother has about 1 lakh INR. They have never travelled to Canada before or to any other country. When they applied for their visa a couple of years ago, they had lesser money in their bank accounts and my mother's bank account details were not submitted by the agent we used. This time, I am submitting their application and I have close to $5k in my bank account consistently and so does my wife. They are wanting to visit me for 10 days.

Should I include the rejection part in my letter of invitation to the embassy or should I not include it?

They do not have any fixed deposits, but do have a house to their name. However it is not in the English language, but in the regional language. Can I show this as sufficient proof of financial status?

Any assistance or suggestion on how I can make this a strong application would be greatly appreciated!

Rejection part is not necessary for the letter of invitation.

You will be asked if the applicant was refused a visa before, you will have to enter yes.

You should mention in the letter of invitation and mention that all their expenses and accomodation will be taken care of and take full guarantee of their return to India.

You cannot show property title as proof of funds as immovable assets are not liquid assets. Only liquid assets can be used as proof of funds. Also, owning a property in India is not a strong reason that a person will come back.

Thanks for your reply! My sister just gave birth to a baby girl anc she’s the first grand child in the family. Will including this help their application? I’m also considering applying for a supervisa. Are the chances of them getting a visa higher if I apply for a super visa?

Yes, you should include the birth of your parent's grand child in your letter of invitation [along with proof]. It will help.
