Hi,

Can I sponsor my parents for permanent residency? I read somewhere that Parents Grandparents sponsorship is through lottery and that the IRCC is now processing application from 2020 or something like that. Is there any other way to sponsor parents? Thanks!!

The PGP program has not been open for new profiles since 2020. It is lottery based. They can come to Canada on a supervisa. Based on LICO as PR/citizen over the past 3 years so make sure you alway meet LICO if it opens again. Targets also dropping to 20k approved in the next fews years with probably 500K who want a spot.

Would clarify they can visit on a supervisa this does not allow parents to move to Canada permanently.

You can attempt to when they open up PGP again but it will be difficult and it could take a very long time.
