Parents sponsorship process when they are visiting in Canada

Hi, We have applied for our parent's sponsorship last week and the processing time says it takes 20-24 months. Although it took much less for all the people we know. Our parents have a visitor visa and want to come to visit us next year. Is it possible if we do their necessary steps for sponsorship like the medical examination, here in Canada? Can they do landing for PR in borders rather than flying out and into Canada?

you can do the parent's medical here in Canada. and it's always better to bring the police clearance from your country when they visit here, since getting a police certificate from your native country from here (Canada) might take some time (normally CIC gives only 30 days to get the police certificate) also note that the police certificate normally valid only for six months, from the date of issue.

after getting the COPR, you can do inland landing in any immigration office across the country (sometimes it takes few weeks to get an appointment), or you can drive them to the nearest border and do the landing and come back on the same day.
