Hello

Happy New Year to all.

I am planning to apply for Parent sponsorship program and would be grateful if someone could answer the two main concerns:
- How long does it normally take for the parents sponsorship application for process?
- Once a parent migrates and receives PR , then can he/she get a work permit, as I am much below the retirement age and would be keen to work in Canada after getting the necessary professional equivalnce certifications.

- For applications submitted under the old process, it's taking 5+ years. No one knows how long it will take under the new process.
- Once someone is a PR, they can work in Canada without a work permit.

As I understand it, the time can be up to 3.5 years, depending on all sorts of factors, such as the Visa Office doing the processing etc.

As a PR, a work permit is not required or available. You would be able to work without any immigration restrictions.
