Starting this thread to discuss 2023 PGP application
As per CIC website
"
For the 2023 intake, we’ll invite potential sponsors from the remaining pool of interest to sponsor forms submitted in 2020. Between October 10 and 23, 2023, we’ll send 24,200 invitations to apply to potential sponsors. Our goal is to accept up to 15,000 complete applications. "

Good luck to all of who eagerly waiting reunion with their parents in Canada.
Can a name be changed on the confirmation number from one parent to the other if one has passed away?

In previous invitation letters, I think there were instruction to notify them of major changes (e.g. address, switching PA ...etc).
So wait for further instuction when you get the invitation. If not, you can call IRCC to find out the steps to swtich.
I think this is getting out of control. Why is IRCC still inviting a pool established since 2020? SOOOOO much has changed in the last 3 years, heck even the world has changed. It's like drawing 649 winner from a pool a month ago!

They are giving priority to those who have been waiting the longest.

It’s not a list of applications, it’s a list of show of interest, these are very different things.

Agree and thats how it should be , i waited 10 year and when lottery was introduced many new people who were barely qualify got PR for their parents and i was also not lucky enough to have the name picked in lotter , only reason i got selected because they kept pulling from the same pool . They should continue doing this until pool is empty and every one get selected and then open new pool or change the process completely .,

I know what it is. My answer still stands. This approach gives preference to those who qualified as sponsors earlier and who have been waiting longer to be selected in order to sponsor their parents.
Then explain to me how is it fair to people who just by chance were not eligible in 2020 due to a family income issue, but were eligible the years prior and years after? This is not prioritizing for people who waited for the longest, this is prioritizing for people who showed interested in the year 2020 specifically.

"It's like drawing 649 winner from a pool a month ago!" This made me laugh

In 2020 when CIC invited for PGP application approx. 150-160K applicant applied , from then till 2022 total 85-90K invitation already sent (in last 3 Year)
so good thing is the remaining apprx. 70K this time they are going to invite 24 K so chances are quite high to be picked.
Minus is people who was not able to apply in 2020 they are not getting another chance.

That scenario doesn't hold water. If someone doesn't meet the income criterial for one year, this would knock then out of qualifying as a sponsor for three years (unless they happen to live in Quebec) - not just one year. If someone didn't qualify for the first time based on income in 2020 (presumably the issue would have been their 2019 income), then they wouldn't have qualified in 2021 and 2022 either. Also, if they had entered and been selected in a previous year (e.g. 2018) but then failed to maintain the required level of income in 2019, the application would have been at high risk of refusal.
One of the very basic criteria of qualifying as a sponsor is meeting the income requirements for three years in a row and then maintaining that income while the application is sponsored. Failing to meet the income requirements for one single year makes you ineligible to sponsor for multiple years.

I agree , they should give chance who are waiting for long
Thankfully i applied in 2020 but was not lucky enough to get selected for last 3 year . I am hoping this year my application get selected
