Parent supervisa application from inside Canada

My mother is visiting Canada currently. She came in mid-October 2018 and her status is valid until mid-April 2019. Her visitor visa expires in Dec 2020. I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a parent Supervisa from within Canada when she is still here? I tried to answer the questionnaire on the IRCC website, to check the options I have. It gave me two options: Either to apply for visitor status extension, or apply for supervisa. Has anyone applied for Supervisa for parent from Canada? I was under the assumption that the supervisa can be applied only from her home country. Thank you.

Not possible from Canada. Your only option is an extension.
