I am creating this thread for the people who are applying for the parent sponsorship through their spouse!
I am trying to figure out the situation listed below:
If I am a citizen, my wife has arrived as a PR and been in Canada for last 9 months (No income, only studying). And I make over 70K a year. In this scenario, will I be able to sponsor my wife's mother/My mother in Law? (Note: my wife's mother/My mother in Law holds Super Visa).
I have gone through the website and it was showing up that you have to apply as a Co-Signer, Not sure how this works interms of eligibilty and income? Do I have to apply as a sponsor OR my wife would have to apply as a sponsor? If she can, Is she eligible to apply having no income and I can be a Co-Signer?
Please post your feedbacks, opinions and ideas if you know or have experienced this type of situation before.
Thanks in advace & appreciate your inputs!

Will also depend if you guys qualify and get selected. There is much more demand than spots. There were supposed to be some big changes to the program this year before covid. it is unclear whether there will be a program this year and what the changes to the program and who qualifies will be.
That's true! It can very well be an assumption around these times however being the possibility, I am just thinking if she would be eligible or not. Of course if it happens or not that is the future thing.
So you guys would agree that my wife would still be eligible to sponsor her mom with no income and me being a co-signer?
(Note: I have been making way beyond minimum income threshold incomes shown on the IRCC website since last 6 years)

If the eligibility is the same as last year yes. We have no idea what changes will be to the program. Parent sponsorship is never a guarantee and the program is renewed annually.
