My wife and I have 3 kids and are looking to sponsor my wifes parents. I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is PR.
We were just looking for some clarifity on how to calculate the family size according to the IRCC web site.
My father in law and spouse currently have 4 dependents however my father in laws spouse and 3 of the 4 dependant children will not be coming to canada with him
wondering if anyone could clarify what our family size will be in this case to calculate the minimum income needed
The calculation is not depending on if the dependents decided to come to Canada or not.
That will affect the forms that you will be filling in. But it doesn't change the calculation of familar size for income requirement.
So in your situation, if all dependents of your inlaw are under 22, then
2 (you and your wife) + 3 (your children under 22) + 2 (your father in law plus his spouse) + 4 (father in law's dependents assuming all under 22)
= 11
All of the applicants family (PA, spouse + dependents) will need to go through medical, police, backgroun checks and have to pass before this application will be approved.
Regardless if they are accompanying your father-in-law to move to Canada or not.
