Hi everybody I hope you’re all well. I’m in Canada as a visitor with a TRV, and I learned that I can get an OWP and work. I do have a slight question however, since there’s a maximum of 180 days associated with the TRV, would I have to leave the country despite having an OWP & working? Do I have to apply for a visitor record and extend my stay as a visitor or would having the OWP be valid for longer than the 180 day stay period allow my visitor status to be extended automatically? Thanks for the help in advance!

No, you read it wrong and many people do. If that were the case every Canadian visitor could get an OWP. You need to find an employer with a LMIA so you can apply for a closed work permit.
