hi everyone
I just want to start by saying this thread has been extremely helpful and thank you all.

My spouse is a US citizen and we applied for his PR and OWP May 30 2018. AOR July 13. He should be recieving his work permit very soon. However a situation has come up (family emergency) which requires him to travel home. Is it a bad idea for him to travel home to FL and remain there until his OWP arrives? I can overnight him the hard copy when it arrives. We would not be travelling if it wasnt necessary...

OWP might not be effected, but the inland PR application might be affected. I have heard that it is not advisable to travel out of the country for too long since you are applying inland. They say when re entering Canada, the applicant might be subject to scrutiny . but if he has a valid reason/emergency I doubt it'll be a problem.
