I have a little bit of a dilemma here. I applied outland for spouse sponsorship, VO ottawa and application approved as of February 2nd (yay!). I have not received a PPR yet. I am from Finland but currently living with my spouse in Canada and my visitors visa is ending March 8th. Now should I apply to extend my stay another month or so to wait for the COPR or just wait for the papers and than maybe overstay my visitors visa. Would overstaying with just a few weeks to wait for the COPR get me in trouble when leaving/reentering?

Your COPR should arrive within a few weeks, so hold off on the visitor extension unless you hit the first week of March and still don't have the COPR in hand.
If you do need to apply for the extension, apply by paper. It takes longer, so there is less chance that they will start processing it before you get your COPR, which means a higher chance of getting a refund on the $100 fee.
Hmm yeah thanks for the input. Any thoughts on actually overstaying while waiting for COPR... Would this get me in trouble when re-entering the country?

However, note that in any future visa/immigration applications anywhere in the world, if asked whether you had overstayed in a country, you would have to declare Yes.
