Hello all,

I am posting this thread to discuss the processing timeline for applications of “Overseas spouses” of an in-Canada Protected Persons, after being transferred to the Visa Office outside Canada such as Abu Dhabi, London, Ankara, Accra..etc

This is for everyone to share their Overseas spouse timelines, experiences, questions, and updates.

My experience is that I mailed my spouse application and mine at the same time:

July 2020

- PA Passed Eligibilty: October 2021
- Overseas updated checklist requested: November 2021
- Overseas spouse application transferred Electronically by CPC-Mississauga to Abu Dhabi Visa Office: November: 2021

- PA Approved December 2021
- PA eCoPR: January 2022

PA: Principle Applicant in Canada

There is quite a lot of variability depending on the country.

That is true. I was in touch with a friend today and he told me that his overseas spouse application in Abu Dhabi took 24 months then they requested Biometrics and medicals within 30 days.

Congrats, great news! Soon they will be with you
Thank you. Hopefully they will. It has been 22 months so far. Hoping all of us get reunited with our families sooner than later

Can you share your timeline and which visa office is processing ? 44 months is way too long. You should request GCMs notes

What is GCM notes and how can I apply for it please
And I arrived to Canada December 2018and applied for asylum on 1st day I arrived till this day exactly 40 months and all that happened is last month my spouse papers were asked to be submitted to Mississuaga, I am hopeful that they have mercy on us and speed up what is left in the process and not waste more years of our lives separated. Keep updating us with ur timeline for when they arrive as good news makes us happy and hopeful. Good luck

Please read this page before you apply:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rmation-privacy/requests-information-act.html

Here is the direct link to request GCMS notes online:

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/

I assume you are the principle applicant. So you will need to have your spouse consent form filled out out and signed so you can get access to his/her information.

Here is the link to the consent form:

https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5744e.pdf

Then will have to pay 5$ fee.

Just make sure to follow the steps watching youtube video which I did.

I have entered Canada on June 2019

But the timeline for PR is different from the date we entered Canada.

Timeline estimate is the day you submit complete application for PR to Case Processing Center in Mississauga.

In my case it was submitted on July 2020
