My husband is from Nicaragua and is currently undocumented in the US with me. I am a dual citizen (Canada/US). We would like to move to Canada. I am going to sponsor from out of the country. He does not have any criminal background except for illegal in US.
Will he have to return to Nicaragua since he is not legally in the US?
How long will it take beginning to visa?
Which consulate would he go through in the Americas if he has to go through Nicaragua?
Thanks for any info.
Lee
Is it a long process through guata? And can he wait in the US until his appointment? Or should he go back when we file for sponsorship? Thanks for info.
Look for Guatemala , he will be required to go back to Guatemala for the interview if called for one....as long as there is somebody in Guata that can inform him if there is any requests or letters from the embassy in Guata he can remain in US..However once he leaves US he will not be able to return to the US since he does not have the papers....unless he takes the same route he took before..
Another question. If my husband does stay with me in the US until the interview (if needed) what do I answer on Application for PR in Canada #15 (your residential address)? Should we just go with the address of his mom in Nicaragua? Thanks
He should use his Nicaraguan address but he must have someone (either relative or friend) checking the mail for CIC correspondence via postal. If he is called for an interview, he will need to go back to his home country (Nicaragua).
This thread's last post is more than a year old, and if you look at the poster's profile info, you will see that her husband's processing was completed and he landed already.
