I am staying with my spouse in Canada, I'm from a visa exempt country, and have a 6 month visitor visa which I plan to apply to renew as soon as our application is in. Now, my questions:
1. We are living together in Canada even though I am a visitor. I am going to answer 'yes' to the question about us living together, and supply a lease for our apartment signed right before we send the app (slow landlord...). This is ok, right? I'm not doing anything stupid/illegal by saying that I live in Canada and giving our address as my address?
2. We're not sure what to do about the financial interdependence question. I have a (very small) life insurance policy through my uni and just made my spouse the beneficiary, and we can prove that we've paid for some trips, furniture, and events tickets for each other. We are also thinking about taking out renter's insurance together. Does this sound ok for those with more experience? Does the jointly signed lease also count as evidence of financial interdependence?
Thank you so much in advance. This forum is a life-saver.

Sorry to continue the thread, I just want to make sure: is it ok to apply as living in Canada as a visitor even if I did not enter under dual intent? When I came here in the fall, I thought I'd be flying out to Europe for a job interview, but was unfortunately never called in as I had thought I would be. Thus, I decided to stay and start the PR process. But I'm concerned that this will look dodgy to CIC...but maybe I'm overthinking it?

Overthinking. Dual intent is not an official classification that one enters under. You aren't put into the system as "Dual Intent". It is simply a policy that CBSA can applying when reviewing a person upon entry.
