Hi everyone,
My wife's PR application - Outland is in progress.
I am a PR myself and will be becoming a citizen soon.
She arrived here with me in Aug on a visitor visa and we applied for SOWP soon after.
In December she got her SOWP approved. In February, it will be 6 months since entering Canada. I wanted to know definitively if she need to leave or if she can stay here beyond the 6 months. Given the approved SOWP.

I'm always unclear on this (and don't really follow) - does someone who has the SOWP in hand also need to apply to extend visit? (Or is that only for those who haven't received it, just in case?)

Like any WP you get status in Canada until the expiration date of the WP. Actually just applying for SOWP would have given them status although would still recommend applying for visitor record just in case the SOWP gets denied for whatever reason.
We called ircc and they notified the status has now changed to be a worker and that they are able to stay as long as the permit is valid. They can apply for extension if needed but that's a different discussion.
