Guide 3990 (Sponsorship of a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent child living outside Canada) states that:
In order to sponsor you must... live in Canada or provide evidence, if you are a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada, that you will live in Canada once the person you are sponsoring becomes a permanent resident.
I am going to be sponsoring my common-law-partner whilst we are both living the the UK. Does anyone how or what evidence we can provide that we will live in Canada after the sponsorship is complete?
We sent bank statements to show that we were transferring our assets into Canadian bank accounts, as well as letters from relatives in Canada stating that we intended to move back to be closer to them.
On top of what DBHC said, stuff like job plans and searches, rental searches, explain what your living situation will be, show actions towards getting your education credentials in accordance with Canadian reqs, if applicable and so on.
Perhaps this is obvious, but I think it also helps to lead them through the evidence in your cover letter. (This is true for the other aspects of your application, too).
We sent bank statements to show that we were transferring our assets into Canadian bank accounts, as well as letters from relatives in Canada stating that we intended to move back to be closer to them.
We're also using letters from relatives and friends to prove intent to move back to Canada as well as to prove our relationship is real. I'm wondering, if we have some of the same people writing letters for both sections, should they write two separate letters or one letter in which they address both our intentions to move back and that our relationship is genuine?
