Hello! I sent my outland application for spousal sponsorship at the end of Feb, via recorded delivery, so I know it was received at the start of March. As far as I know it hasn't been sent back to me, but at the same time I've had no email saying 'here's where to log in to your CIC account!' or whatever. Should I be worried? Thanks!
no, there's no reason to worry yet. it can take 30 days or longer to receive acknowledgement of receipt (AOR). I'd recommend hanging out in the February and March applicant threads to track when others start receiving notifications.

They only send you an email with application number and UCI after they finish the sponsor assessment which may take up to 6 weeks. The email you receive will say that you passed eligibility to be a sponsor and your application will be forwarded to the visa office in the country of residence of your spouse.

I'm sponsoring my husband. I got the application number and UCI in the AOR1 email informing me that they had received my application and had started processing it. Didn't get sponsor approval until weeks later.

Maybe it depends on the office? I sent my application to Mississauga office and they only sent me one email saying that I was approved as a sponsor and gave me the UCI and App no. Also it could be because the whole sponsor eligibility check took 1 week in my case because I already had government security clearance.

I think we both submitted the application at the same time and i have also been trying to know when i will be able to hear from them. This site helps though and thanks to everyone that gave you the right answers. Kindly keep me posted when you hear from them because we seems to be on the same timeline. Thanks

all outland AORs and SAs are issued by the same office, and that part of the process doesn't have to do with the citizenship of the applicant. how quickly applicants get notifications depends more on application volume, working habits of visa officers, and various other aspects of the process. IRCC has never been consistent. sometimes they give AORs to everyone, sometimes they go straight to SA. the only consistent thing with IRCC is there is no consistency.
