Outland applicant!! how long am i allowed to stay in canada with the VisitorVisa, i have been granted the visa long before i got married and it is still valid for 2 years Multiple entry . i am planning to stay in canada with my husband until i receive my PR but was told to leave every 6 months and come back is that true? that sounds good since i am sure thru out the process i will want to go visit my family back home. but is there someone here who go out and in canada with no problems during his land application is in process?
You can normally stay up to 6 months but this could be either extended by application or it could be reduced on entry via a Visitor Record. There are no guarantees with immigration. They can even refuse you entry if they feel that you are not a genuine visitor. At least, with an outland application, this will not terminate your application if you do get refused entry.
Check your Visitor Record document that was issued by Immigration Canada at the airport/border when you arrived.
Either 6 months from date of entry or a sooner date if one was specified.....check your passport and document issued.
The (multiple-entry sticker) in passport is not the one which indicates your "stay" period.
