outbound family sponsorship: how long will it take for them to contact you?

Hi everyone,
I am planning to mail out our outbound family class sponsorship (I am sponsoring my spouse) application forms later this week. I am sending it from Taiwan.

Based on experience, how long does it usually take for them to contact us? Will immigration contact us through mail or email notifying they have received the application form? Just curious, since we are on a tight timeline.

Mostly thru email esp if an email address is indicated on the app forms. Lucky ones gets their 1st AOR within 2 weeks to a month from receipt at mailing room, while for some it takes up to 2 months.

Will immigration contact us through mail or email notifying they have received the application form?

In a word, No. If you want an assurance that your pack has been delivered, you should send it by international courier to the courier address specified by CIC (The 2 Robert Speck Parkway one). That way you will have a signature confirming delivery.

What they will do is issue an initial acknowledgement once they have done a completeness check. This is the AOR referred to by the earlier poster and this can take 2 - 6 (maybe 8) weeks after receipt in CPC Mississauga. This will have your application number, UCI etc.
