My boyfriend and I have been living together for 1 year. We decided to go common law and wanted to know. If he sponsors me would he have to pay back the government for being on OSAP?

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. He is on Osap now and during the year we lived together. Now that we are applying for common law would he have to pay back what he was granted by osap? Because on the form they ask if your common law to determine how much yo will receive. We havent been officially common law but we want to be now.

He may only qualify for a certain amount based on your family income is that what you are asking about?. Just making sure that you have lived together continuously for 1 year. You don’t get to choose if you’re common law. If you live together for a year you are and have to declare it. You’ll have to declare on your taxes as well.
