We're at the last stage of getting the application together and was wondering how you all presented the proof of relationship? My thoughts were to present the most recent stuff and work backwards by year as most of our evidence is from feb 2014 to now and we're a bit light on proof before then. We are applying common law.
I provided a letter of explanation for our proof of relationship and made references to different appendices, and presented the supporting documents in the same order that I made reference to them. So I supposed for me it ended up being in reverse chronological order. I just felt that it was a useful was to display all of the information.
Other than that I would recommend using the same order as in the checklist, some people used envelops to seperate their information (i.e. sponsor's forms, spronsored person's forms) I was a little worried to do so, but others have been successful in doing so!
I used seperaters with tabs to seperate the forms, supporting documents, etc.
Thanks, I've tried to stick to the checklist as much as possible. I have kind of done what you did re: using separators and tabs to separate everything. I used cover sheets instead, listing everything almost like a table of contents, adding explanations if needed.
I thought about the envelopes, but I didn't really like that idea..
I filed the most recent correspondence at the top (our wedding photos) and worked backwards. I separated each type of evidence with a labelled divider/tab, with a typed cover sheet "email correspondence" " wedding" .......... etc. I used a bulldog clip to keep everything together. I decided not to use envelopes and I didn't use staples or paperclips.
I filed everything in the order of the document checklist so in the end it was in 4 parts; Sponsor's papers, Principal Applicant's forms, Proof of Relationship and finally supporting documents such as police certificates, e-medicals, etc etc. Each section had tabs/dividers and each section was held together with a bulldog clip so that it was clear (hopefully) for them to work their way through it.
I fussed over it like a mother-hen and in the end became a bit obsessive about how organised it looked.... ! ;D
I didn't like the idea of envelopes either. I saw some people putting cover letters on these envelopes. In my mind, what's the point of that, they will just rip it open and toss the envelope so there goes your organisation.

I was thinking along those lines too, and I've noticed that people that do this have much longer applications that we do. I think in total ours is only about an inch thick...
