I stapled tons of stuff in my package and had no problem. I guess i missed the do not staple part in the guide. Regardless... my file was processed within the 30% min time frame so its definetly not a make or break it thing..... no worries!
I don't think CIC ever said that DO NOT STAPLE..then again I might be wrong..we all are too stressed or being paranoid of the application being returned -- which happened so often for blank fields in the initial application sent to CIO....
Instruction in the CIO checklist:
'Gather documents as listed. Check each item on the checklist and attach the checklist to your documents (a paper clip will do). Place all the documents in a sealed envelope. Do not send originals unless otherwise stated.'
MY COMMENT: I think this has been widely misinterpreted as not using Staple - all of us interpreted this as "Use Paper Clip' and never use staple -
The other Instruction in the Buffalo CIC website:
'Use no binders, page protectors, report covers, etc; Avoid excessive use of paper clips. If the application hs numerous supporting documents, please use an elastic band. Do not submit documents in separate envelopes.'
MY COMMENT: Here you see, they never mention to DO NOT STAPLE instead AVOID EXCESSIVE USE OF PAPER CLIPS. I think it makes sense to staple the multipages forms - otherwise - like other member said - it could be messy and paper clips easilly fall off. And then I will use a larger paper clip to group each section such as: Work experience, Education proof, etc. And I think as long as it flows in the order as instructed - they will not make a fuss - the contents are more important for them when they decide whether to reject or delay the process...
I also do not see how some applicants have 450 pages total in the package. I think as long as we fulfill the requirements that should be good and that should make it easier for everyone including the CIC officers - not overloading them with too many evidence to look at. cheers
they do say no staples but you know what its not a big deal i stapled a ton of stuff together and wwhen it came back with my visa they had just removed them
