Hello again!

Here is a quick recap of our situation! I am canadian citizen, my husband is from Guatemala. He has a visitor visa valid until 2018. We just got married last may and are putting together our application to hand in soon.
Here is the new twist... we just found out that I am pregnant! Yay! Our little one is due in March. Here is our dilemma...

Option A
Our original plan was to apply outland as it is faster, and we were gonna live in Guatemala while waiting. We could still do this, but with the pregnancy it changes things a bit as I would like the baby to be born in Canada. But my husband might not have his PR by then. He could still come with his visitor visa, but not work.

Option B
We could also apply inland. At this point this option might be better for us as he could get the work permit within 4 months and we could start our life in Canada. I know it can take up to 2 years for the PR but were ok with that, as long as he can work. My question with this option is, if we do inland, does he have to be physically in Canada to do this? Because we are planning to stay in Guatemala until December, but file application officially in September...

Which option seems best in your opinions?

I hope I explained things right! :p .. Thank you!!

Yes both you and him must be physically living together in Canada in order to submit an inland app, and must continue to reside in Canada during entire duration of processing. So you probably wouldn't be able to submit until at least January 2017.

Probably better to apply outland immediately, and hopefully app is done mid next year, or around the same time he would get OWP with the inland app.

Thank you for your answer!
With this new information, yes the outland does sound better.

Only problem now is we need to wait another month now to order our marriage certificate.. ugh

Any other input on our situation?

Thanks in advance :)

You cannot file an inland sponsorship application until you are both in Canada, so I would file an outland application as soon as possible. That way you can stay in Guatemala until December, then you can come back and have the baby here; meanwhile he can enter Canada as a visitor.
