I have chose the opt-in option for the 2023 PGWP extension public policy. I've got few questions.
1) Even though I have opted in, do I still need to put an application through for PGWP extension under the new public policy
2) I also need to extend my wife's work permit. So do I need to put through a PGWP extension under new public policy along with her application.
Hi, I got extension approval as well but only for 10 months from the date of my current pgwp expiration. Did your husband get 18 months extension? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hello
I also got only 10 months extension. I think they count from the day they approved the extension. Does anybody know how to contact IRCC for this issue ??
Some PGWP applicants received their new work permits with errors
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued some Post Graduation Work Permits (PGWP) extension applicants new work permits with incorrect expiry dates. In mid-April 2023, an increasing number of PGWP Extension applicants reported obtaining new PGWP extensions with an expiration date 18 months from the IRCC approval date rather than the PGWP’s original expiration date. IRCC experienced the same technical glitch when it tried to fasten processing post-pandemic visitor records and extensions. As a result, work permit applicants were being issued visitor visas, while visa applicants received work permits.
Quoted from a Registered Immigration Consultant's Linkedin page. I think they will come up with a solution.Need to wait for an official update.
Hey Syamili, do you mind tell me when you guys have applied for his extension? Because I have applied for my husband on May 16th, and we did not have any answer til today. But in our case we were in maintained status.
