I am about to submit application for both permanent residency (for American wife) and an open work permit for her...just want to make sure I am sending the correct forms for he work permit.
It seems that I only need to submit 2 forms - the checklist (imm5556) and Application to Change Conditions (imm5710). As for documents, it seems all I need are copies of passport, birth certificate and marriage license, and the receipt for payment. None of the other documents seem to relate to our situation. Am I right?
As for the supporting documents - they are basically documents I will be submitting for my PR application. Do I have to include a second set just for the work permit, or are the ones I sent for PR be fine?
Finally, on IMM5710, do I mark "apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer" and then where asked what type of permit we are applying for I enter "Open work permit" and provide no other information about an employer. Is this correct?
