Open permit extension

Hi friends,

I am on my PGWP and I am currently working.My wife is in spousal open work permit and our both permits are about to expiry in 1.5 months.In this case, can I just apply for open work permit extension in order to be in implied status.Could anyone give some suggestions

For what purpose as permit will be refused. Wife can change status to visitor. Once refused, you are out of status.

Thanks for the responses and will IRCC give time to change our status once we got refusal.Could we able to restore the status

Once you are refused you are out of status. You cannot restore status to visitor or worker because it probably is more than 90 days since permits expired. Wife should apply to change status to visitor. Are you hoping for invitation?
