Onward passage ticket

Hey, i will be entering Canada on a working holiday visa. I have a one way ticket but it says i need a return or onward passage ticket to enter the country. Can this be a Train or bus ticket out or do i have to book a flight?

Several of my friends and I came to Canada on working holiday visa in last 18 months, and we weren't asked for returning ticket. I was asked when entering Canada for the second time with young professionals visa to provide evidence of medical insurance.

If you are asked, tell them that you tried to buy a return ticket but the airline wouldn't let you book one year in advance. This would be true for many if not most airlines.
