I applied to extend my study permit and TRV from Canada. Though my passport is valid for 10 years, my TRV was issued only for 5 years. Any idea why so?
 
Because IRCC felt 5 years was sufficient.....there is no mandate for them to issue atudu permit or TRV for the validity of your passport.
