I'm having difficulty understanding the exact digital photo specifications. Can anyone share an accepted photo as an example? I found a lot of examples online but all of them measure the width and the height of the photo in millimeters not in pixels, while the required dimensions of the digital photo are 420x540 pixels. Also, if I submitted a photo with wrong specifications, would they contact me to change it or would it be a major problem?

Take a clear pic from your phone. Go to visafoto.com and select the Canada visa option. I think they charge you $5 or so to download the edited pic. That's what I did for myself and my family.
