I have not applied for spousal sponsorship as yet, I ll submit the application next week. My question is, when do I create the online account for the application? After submitting the application do I link the application to the online account?
Also, as a sponsor do I create the account under my name or under my wife's name since she is the applicant?
Assuming that you're submitting it yourselves without a representative.. The account online also known as myCIC can be created whenever however the linking of the application can only be done by the applicant and not the sponsor then separately both of you will have your own access to ECAS which is short for Electronic Client Application Status

Welll yes of course (assuming you have consent) but you want the details to be EXACTLY as what is on the file or else it will not link when it's time to link.

Alo, thank you for your instruction. So I just wonder whether the sponsor needs to create an online account as well? As I and my husband received emails from CIC and each of us have a different UCI.

No just the applicant. The sponsor will have access to ECAS so will the applicant but the application is really about the applicant as we know so the sponsor doesn't really need that much access I guess.
Yes 2 different UCI but same application number. That's how you both access the ECAS with individual personal info

We actually realized that we need to get Police certificate, it is so stressful, my deadline is November 11th. At the start, when I read Guide 5525, I thought that I just need to get PC in my country where I had lived before I went to Canada in March with visitor visa. But now, according to CIC letter, I understand it better that my husband has to get PC too, and because I have lived here for more than 6 months so I have to get PC in Canada as well! We live in Quebec, so by chance, do you know any service to get PC quickly?
And I did create an account for my husband who is my sponsor on the same site; but it doesn't work when I tried to link his UCI and app number to his account. Maybe I should try to link it on this site? https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do

Yeah quite tricky
For the sponsor's side.. i registered him and used sign-in partner but i put my uci& my application# there to linked (im the applicant).
Anyhow as i experienced there are 2 sites each for sponsor and applicant bcs near to final, sponsor will get sponsor approval to his email and on applicant ecase there will be notice Decision Made..
