Hi there! I intend to pursue a one-year master degree in Ontario (Canada). The problem is that I will be studying in Canada only for approximately 6 months with the balance of my study spent in The Netherlands. And upon graduation, I will receive the degree in Canada. After graduation, am I eligible to gain post-study visa to work in Canada? How long can I stay? If I have landed myself a full-time job after graduating, am I able to apply for CEC? I'm afraid that I don't fulfill the education requirement. Your help will be highly appreciated!
1- If you study for less than a year, you work permit will be valid for the same time as the time you spent studying.
2- No, you won't be eligible to apply under the CEC category as it requires at least two year of study. In order to apply under the CEC category, you will need to work for at least 1 year (based on the new conditions) to be eligible to apply. In that case, your employer will be required to apply for a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) so that you can extend your work permit.
Thank for your reply!
So disappointed! In my case, if I succeed in persuading my employer to extend my work permit and work for one year, then am I still able to apply under the CEC category?
Will they condone my one-year master degree?
