Hi

I have a temporary work permit, although I am not currently working, and it states I need authorization to study. I guess that means a study permit? Can I apply for a study permit and still have a work permit?

My work permit also says that I am not authorized to work in child care or teaching. How would I get the required authorization? Further training? (As this is what I did in the UK.)

Thanks

Hi,

you have to apply for study permit if you want to study for more than 6 months. You can change your visa from work permit to study permit.
Before you can apply a new study permit, you have to have an offer from the College or University. I am aware in the UK's Study and Work Program cause I undergo in that kind of program too. But unfortunately they haven't got that program here...
You can apply for PR under Nomination Program though if you have a full time job.

And then it can save you thousands of dollars if you have Permanent Resident in Canada because International Students pay 3x more than Canadian/PR residents.

Goodluck...hope this one helps!
