Old passport and PR Card

I have brought my new Indian passport and PR card with me from Toronto. I renewed my passport this year because the old passport was expiring in Dec this year.

When I arrived Delhi the immigration officer asked me if I have the old passport with me and I responded no which didn’t create any issues.

I’m worried that during departure they may ask for the old passport again. I have copies of first and last page of the old passport. All of my visas stamps have expired. should I be worried? If old passport is such a big deal I can ask someone to mail it to me from Toronto to Delhi. Please help. Has anyone travelled with a new passport?
