I have been working intermittently in Canada since 2018 and have a permanent job offer letter from my employer which I can upload.
However during the upload process it asks me separately for a document for
1.) "offer of employment" and one for
2.) "letter of employment" (?!?)
Are these not the same thing? And if so why ask me for two documents.
Now I have scoured the forum and cant find anything on this. The CIC website seems to suggest there is a difference between the two (but doesn't make it clear what this is)
I'm really at a loss as to what the difference is and apart from my employment letter not sure what I should upload.
I have an employer specific work permit waterlooengineer. I have been working for the exact employer on the work permit and this is where my employment letter is from.
Still not sure about offer of employment vs letter of employment

Thanks canuck - isn't the letter of employment the same as a reference letter then? I have also a tab to upload a reference letter from this employer!?! I have been asked for
1.) reference letter
2.) letter of employment
3.) offer of employment
These seem like the same thing!
I have been working intermittently in Canada from 2018 ( I haven't worked there in the last few months). My understanding is that CURRENT working in Canada isn't a specific requirement for PR (and the additional points). I will be going back to Canada in a few months. The letter I have got from my employer states I have worked for them, and that I have a permanent job offer and that I will be coming back full time later in the year.

A letter of employment is a confirmation that you work there. A reference letter details your experience, duties, salary, hours etc. The offer letter confirms that you have a job offer.
