Off Campus Work Permit Working Hours

My friend is on a study permit and holding an off campus work permit. At this moment he is doing thesis as part of the masters course he is enrolled in. As you would know, he is not required to go to school while doing the thesis and he can complete them from home and probably attend a weekly meeting for couple hours with his coordinator to review the progress of the thesis. As per the off campus work permit regulations he cannot work fultime job while doing a fultime acdemic, but he is not going to school as mentioned to do his thesis.

My question is how many hours he is allowed to work during this time when is he doing thesis from home ? Please help.
